Looking through some old videos recently Pauline Chappell came across a tape with footage of a weathered little house. “I thought, “ what is this?” Then I realized, ‘this is my house!’ I had taped the rehabilitation from beginning to finish. My boys thought I was crazy when I first showed it to them, but I could picture the final product in my head.”

When Pauline discovered United Housing, she and her two sons were living in a bad rental situation where the house was literally falling down around them. “We had a bad landlord and the rent was high, but I felt like there was hope when I found United Housing. It took some time but, the whole process was helpful and changed our lives. I found the house on St. Patrick’s Day and it’s on Shamrock Lane. I knew if was the one. I guess it was the luck of the Irish!”
